Chile 2007
“I spent about two weeks in Chile in the late spring (or, in South American terms, early winter) of 2007. ” (One of Rob M's photo albums)
Also near that same wine region (the Colchagua Valley), there's a hotel called Hacienda Los Lingues. It's an old estate that's been converted to a boutique hotel. You're really in the country here, and there's not much to do but relax, eat, taste wines and maybe check out a nearby olive oil operation. I imagine this would be a great place to get away from it all if you're someone who has a problem with, say, paparazzi. Anyway, this guy is a classic Chilean cowboy (they're called Huasos), and he was giving a horsemanship demo. He was really good. Stopping the horse on a dime, doing all kinds of things that you imagine were once essential to the process of herding cattle.
