at Miami airport

First leg of the trip is my hop from Toronto to Miami. American Airlines. Got a great seat at one of the emergency exits, with oodles of leg room. Seriously, it was at least as good (leg wise) as first class. Spent the time reading the owner's manual for our digital camera.
The ground was mostly cloud-covered, so nothing to see there. In the descent to Miami I had a bit of a view of the coast and the development on the beaches. It really does look like the TV shows and movies. I'm almost hoping my killer layover on the way back remains at 15 hours (ack!), so that I can have a chance to explore.
Miami airport is pretty spread out, and there are few moving sidewalks or anything like that in much of the terminal that I saw. From the gate I arrived at, to the gate at which my flight will leave in a few more hours, there was a sign indicating it was a 20 minute walk! I don't think it was fully that long, but still pretty far with a fully loaded laptop bag on your shoulder.
Had a bite to eat at Jose Cuervo Tequileria, the only real restaurant in the airport that I've found. I'd actually really like some tequila, but I'm feeling cheap and don't want to get boozed up either. So nothing but water. And now a coffee from starbucks, while I sit here with my T-mobile wireless connection.
NOTE TO ANYONE TRAVELLING THROUGH THE MIAMI AIRPORT: the airport has a WiFi service, which works out to something like $20/hr. But right in front of Jose Cuervo is a T-Mobile billboard, and it seem that only in this vicinity you can get a T-Mobile WiFi signal. And a day pass is only $9.99, for 24 hours.
Anywho, here I am with a connection and a laptop, doing some ootboot work and GoogleTalking with my sweetie who I already miss.
More to follow when I can manage it.
