Hiking in the Canadian Rockies

Getting Ready for Summer

Pristine Hiking in and near Banff and Jasper National Parks

The ski season is over and we are down in Golden anticipating the coming backpacking season. The bookings are slowly coming in for the summer trips. So far, the White Goat trip and the Great Divide High Line trips still have spaces available. The Great Divide High Line is the trip which started this guiding business. It is a beautiful hike through some of the more remote corners of Banff National Park.

The White Goat Widerness trip is one of a kind. The trip takes place in a pristine piece of wilderness . The hiking is interesting and the terrain is intricate. I have been guiding for over 12 years and never entered a wilderness area as picturesque as this one. The alpine meadows were a photographer's dream and the peace and serenity of the area was incredible considering we were so close to Jasper National Park's busy areas. So many hanging valleys with alpine lakes surrounded us and the whole was tied together by a network of well established game trails.
