Via ferrata

An airy suspension bridge part of CMH's Bobbie Burns Lodge via ferrata. Care of CMH.

Via ferrata are basically iron staircases and cables placed on sheer rock faces to make getting up mountains easier. They're all over the place in Europe, but are fairly new to North America. Today I'm on my way to check out one of two via ferrata in western Canada at Canadian Mountain Holiday's Bobbie Burns Lodge, north of Invermere. CMH sent me some pictures of the via ferrata for me to check out and it looks awesome. Plus, I hear CMH lodges are a pretty nice place to hang around after a day in the mountains. I'm pretty excited. After that I plan to spend a couple days in Banff and then a couple days in Calgary before returning home. I'll keep you up to date on my adventures as they progress.
