Sharing Our Outdoor Pursuits
As young seniors anticipating more free time, which we project for 2009, we're excited about being more active outdoors in places around the world. We are posting some of our activities here and look forward to hearing more from other seniors who are doing interesting things.

Smiths Reef in Providentiales (Turks and Caicos) is a well known yet uncrowded site that is well marked, easy to locate and interesting to explore. We arrived about 10:30 am a couple of weeks ago to see what we could find. We wanted to stay out of the hot sun at midday so didn't have a lot of time. The reef was very easy to find, not far from shore. Lots of different kinds of coral to see - some tagged with information markers sponsored by local businesses. It would be easy to damage the coral at this site as the water was not very deep in places so we moved about the beds carefully. Lots of fish to see, some beautifully camouflaged, others brilliantly marked. The highlight was 3 Manta Rays traveling together on the ocean floor in a deeper spot. Hard to tell how big they were and we didn't follow.
