Paddler's Guide to Happy Camping

This is Kevin Callan's blog about his trips, his (mis-)adventures, and his favourite gear.

Presenting in Oshawa and Barrie this week - My mom says it's a funny show!

Thought some of you would want to know that I'm presenting on my new book Wilderness Pleasures in Oshawa this Tuesday night and then in Barrie on Thursday evening.

Here are the details. It's a very funny show. Really, it is. Honest. My mother even said it is.

Kevin Callan, author of the new book Wilderness Pleasures: A Practical Guide to Camping Bliss, is back again this spring, entertaining and informative as always. This time he will be presenting on the reasons why we go camping and how to make it more enjoyable next time we're out. He'll cover topics like spend more time out there, cool camp gadgets, tradiional gear, serving bush martinis, baking bread and making s'mores. Kevin also has a lot more new places to share with us in Temagami, Algonquin, Quetico and the Kawartha Highlands. This is a show you definitely don't want to miss. Books will be on hand for Author Signing…See you there!

Hey Kevin -- that's a great video. At some point, please post links to places we can buy the book!

Not sure if the new book covers this, but if not here's an idea for a future post: I'd be really interested in hearing your recommendations for camping with small kids. Mine will be 3 and 6 this summer, and I would love to get them out of the city and into the woods. Are they too young? Any tips or anecdotes or recommendations from your experiences?
