Our various trips and mini adventures

Moose Mountain, Bragg Creek Area

We just had "full house" this summer and I had to go out and do something. Well, so we did, we went for hike to Moose Mountain around Bragg Creek in southern Alberta. Well, let's take the head count - Ninka, daughter of our friends from Katowice in Poland, Jasiu - son of our friends from Warsaw, Poland, Maja - daughter of our friends from Frankfurt, Germany. Kids came to Calgary to do some ESL (English as a second language) training. For Nina and Jasiu it was first real hike in the Rockies, Maja has been here before and we did some serious hiking at that time.

It was wonderful day to be out there except maybe for too much wind but one can not have everything , It is good 6 km hiking through the forest before one finally starts walking upwards. I don't remember all tech data - vertical gain, gradient etc - but it was good old fun. After reaching the summit we never wanted to go back down - it was so nice up there. Let me tell you lunch tastes totally different after hike like that. By the time we got back to our car we all were bone-weary ;-))
