Ice Climbing Oxtongue Lake, Ontario

Oxtongue Lake is located east of Huntsville. Take Hwy #60, about 9 km east of Hwy #35 and turn left onto Algonquin Outfitter's Road. Gain the lake by parking at the store and walking down. Walk about 10 minutes on the lake due north and you come upon a large crag with three prominent ice climbing routes. Listed from right to left they are:

"Lost Arrow" which is a grade 5.5, 3+, and is 30 meters tall.

Second is "Kid in a Candy Store" which is a grade 3 and is approximately 25 meters tall. "Kid in a Candy Store" is the middle flow, climb straight up.

The final climb is "Pillar of Doom". It is a grade 4 and is 50 meters. Climb the easy ice in the gully to the base of the impressive yellow pillar. Continue up the pillar to successfully complete the climb.
