Kushog Lake has long been a popular destination for beginner climbers looking for a quick access area to develop thier ice climbing skills. Directly off hwy 35 approx. 3 km south of the Leslie Frost Center you will find the Fire House Restaurant. You may park here for a small fee or better yet patron the restaurant after you climb for a great burger and beer. You can access the climbs one of two ways. Either take the hiking trail from the parking lot up the hill or hike along the lake and head up to the climbs roughly 750m along. When this trail starts to level off and approach a vertical wall you can either branch off to the right and up the ridge via the red webbing to set up top ropes or continue on at the base of the cliffs. The first climb you will come to is Blue Pillar (25m WI4), a fairly demanding lead and the hardest climb at this site. Continue on 250m and you will reach caramel Coating (20m WI3). You can access the top to set up ropes by hiking up to the Left if you prefer not to lead. This ridge will also allow you to access the top of the next climb farher along the ridge. Continue to hike along and below this ridge andother 300m to reach Blue Boy (20m WI 2+) These three are the most popular yet there are 2 more climbs further down the lake another 750m to Sadly Unknown (10m WI3+0, a short but very challenging vertical wall right off the lake and Mapleburry (20m WI2+) another 500m in a bay to the right of cottages. This climb is slightly hidden in the bush. This is a great area to get started with climbing as there is great access and easy top roping set ups. This area is also quite popular and is used by groups and schools on weekends.

Thanks for this information. You've now given my friends and I a plan of where to go in the area. Our cottage is 30 minutes away on Little Redstone Lake so the drive will be short and well worth it.
