Lake Tahoe is located about 62 miles (99 kilometers) from Reno, 92 miles (147 kilometers) from Sacramento and 188 miles (300 kilometers) from San Francisco.

Lake Tahoe is right on the border of California and Nevada. It is broken up into three main areas: North Shore California, North Shore Nevada and the South Shore.

Skiing on the North Shore
