Manuel Antonio is a beach, within Manuel Antonio National Park, on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. The park is located just south of the city of Quepos

Surfing

Surfers are often early risers here, to be ready for sun-up when the breaks are at their best. Even at the crazy hour of 5 a.m. the water is warm and inviting. The surf is great. The area is for the most part a sand bottom surf spot, so for the beginner surfer the comfort of hitting sand and not coral is a big plus for getting down the basics. By the time 11:00 rolls around its usually a good time to take an hour power nap and then wake up to decide if you want to catch the afternoon break.

The surf is consistent in the late fall /winter months. The rainy season is just that rainy but it often rains for about an hour, which works out for a quick nap.

Other Activities

Manuel Antonio park also offers popular hiking trails.

Other Advice

It is a place that is safe, but be smart with how you pack your things, and don’t leave your valuables out.

Renting a car is a good idea because there is so much within driving distance.
