Mount Vinson (4892 metres) is the highest mountain in Antarctica. It is located in the Ellsworth Mountain range near the base of the Antarctic Peninsula adjacent to the Ronne Ice Shelf. As one of the "Seven Summits", it has become a popular destination for mountaineers.
