Edit textTofino is located on the north west side of Vancouver Island.
Surfing in Tofino is rugged. The water is cold and the waves are big during the stormy winter season. During the summer the waves are generally a bit smaller but the water isn't much warmer.
Long Beach is just south of Tofino and is a beautiful, long, windswept beach. This is where the majority of the surfing on the island takes place.
Long Beach is a provincial park and therefore access is excellent and parking is abundant.
This is Canadian surfing at its best.
